Don't Let The Toilet Flush You!
The
importance of toilets cannot be stressed enough. As toilets have
become a very critical part of man’s everyday lives, so does their
maintenance—proper maintenance ensures that your toilet is working
properly whenever you need it. A malfunctioning toilet not only
causes hassle, but utter embarrassment as well.
What
are the some of the common problems when it comes to toilets and what
can you do to fix them? Here are some:
1.
Toilet won't flush - check the flapper valve and float ball assembly
for any damage. Check the chain connecting the lever to the flapper.
If you find anything defective with these parts, have a plumber
replace the damaged part immediately
2.
Toilet flushes itself - popularly known as the ''Phantom Flush'',
this problem is caused by water leaking from a worn-out flapper
valve. Have the valve replaced to solve the problem.
3.
Toilet flushing slowly - this is usually the result of clogged holes
underneath the bowl. Use a curved piece of wire to poke gently into
each flush hole to clear out any debris.
4.
Toilet leaking - replace the seals right away to prevent a major
disaster!
Of
course, you can always replace a damaged toilet component by
yourself, but if you don’t have any experience in the matter, it’s
best to let a professional handle the task.
